Don’t you just love the sight of a smoothie that’s super colorful, easy to make, and most importantly, healthy as can be? I sure do! It only took 3 ingredients to make this smoothie bowl a reality! Frozen bananas, frozen strawberries, and some coconut milk.

This is the first smoothie bowl of a series that I’m starting. My goal is to make 10 different colored smoothie bowls that looks different in color, but still offer that thick consistency!!

EQUIPMENT USED

Using a high-powered blender is key to making the smoothie nice and thicc! I use a Vitamix blender, but Nutribullets works great too.

I also used a coconut bowl with spoon that came with it! You can use any bowl, or even add this smoothie in a cup.

INGREDIENTS

To make this smoothie nice and thick, I made sure not to add much liquid (coconut milk), so the key is to add a bunch of frozen stuff into the blender and add a little liquid. There is literally no limit on what you can add to these smoothies!! The power of creativity is in the palm of your hand! Here’s what I added in this one.

  • 3 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 2/3 cup coconut milk
  • Add-Ons
    • 1 teaspoon Blue Spirulina
    • Pitaya
    • Almonds
    • Coconut flakes
    • Goji berries

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add the frozen ingredients into the high powered blender
    • Can literally be anything – for example: frozen mangos, bilberries, raspberry, Acai, peach, or even kale & cauliflower (trying that next).
  • Blend the ingredients on low, then gradually increase until on medium power. For Vitamix, I started at 1 then worked up to 4-5. I used a tamper to push everything down.
    • PATIENCE is also key! Even if you have to scoop it around and blend it again and again, that’s ok. The goal is to make it look like a thick smoothie! Gotta do whatever it takes… This IS SERIOUS BUSINESS! Well not that serious, it’s just a smoothie Frank, chill. Haha.
  • After about 1-2 minutes, scoop out the smoothies into a bowl, add toppings, then enjoy!
